Bettina Rohrbeck

Bettina Rohrbeck studied piano, composition and conducting at the Musikhochschule Würzburg. She is head of music and Kapellmeister at the Kiel Opera and a lecturer at the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre. As a conductor she works in France, Austria and Italy as well as at opera houses in Germany and Switzerland.

Her repertoire includes almost all Mozart operas and numerous baroque operas as well as the romantic opera repertoire (“Il Barbiere di Siviglia”, “Die Lustigen Weiber von Windsor”, “Werther”, “Lucia di Lammermoor” and others) and numerous world premieres and German premieres.

Concert tours have taken her throughout Europe, Asia and South America. She has performed at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Eutin Opera Festival, the Freistadt Opera Festival, the Rossini Festival on Rügen, Schloss Johannisberg in Rheingau, the Grieg Festival Bergen, the Weber Days Eutin, the Goethe Institutes in Lima, La Paz, Bogota, Caracas, the Center of the Arts Singapor, the University of Brasilia, ISAF Afghanistan, the Kulturhuse Odense.

In addition to conducting opera repertoire, Bettina Rohrbeck directs numerous opera productions as joint projects with the universities of Lübeck and Hamburg and other newcomer projects – the world premiere of the opera “Kalif Storch” at the CHIFFREN Festival for New Music with the Kiel Philharmonic Orchestra was documented and broadcast by ARTE. In addition to her intensive work with early music, she also devotes herself in particular to the promotion of young musicians and the cultivation of new music.
