Capella Vitalis Berlin was founded in 2002 by the baroque violinist Almut Schlicker with the aim of keeping the music of the 17th/18th centuries alive. The ensemble is characterised by flexible instrumentation possibilities ranging from baroque sonata/trio sonata to romantic orchestra.
Lively musical interpretation not to mention a well-balanced harmonic atmosphere within the ensemble make an impact. As a result, Capella Vitalis Berlin is in great demand – at festivals in London, Spain, Denmark, Norway as well as at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival. Another focus of the ensemble is its collaboration with professional choirs.
In April 2015, Capella Vitalis Berlin released its first CD, “Encaenia Musices” by Romanus Weichlein on the Raumklang label, to great acclaim.
