The stage and costume designer was born in Bielefeld. Today she lives and works in Brandenburg.
Frauke Bischinger studied Fine Arts at the Düsseldorf Art Academy in Professor Karl Kneidl’s stage design class and Theatre Design at Nottingham Trent University in England.
Important milestones in her career thusfar include: “Theatre in Education”, the Young Vic Theatre and the Greenwich Young People’s Theatre in London. Frauke had her first permanent engagements at the Theater Nordhausen,the Theater Magdeburg and the Theater Altenburg-Gera.
As a freelancer she has been engaged by the Uckermärkische Bühnen Schwedt, the Theater Quedlinburg-Halberstadt, the Staatstheater Schwerin, the Theater an der Parkaue Berlin, the Kabarett Distel, the Krystalpalast Leipzig, the Kleist Forum Frankfurt (Oder), the Oper Oder Spree and the European Theatre Network Magic Net (with tours in Norway, Portugal, Switzerland, Poland and the Netherlands).
She is also active in her own studio with stage and costume designs, costume fabrications, theatre sculptures and in the field of theatre education.
